Our crawlspace had a dirt floor & needed encapsulation with a vapor barrier, mold remediation, and installation of an automatic dehumidifier. Summit Basement Waterproofing did a great job. It is now dry, clean and moisture-controlled. The vapor barrier looks great! The dehumidifier was well worth it, there’s no more musty smell in our house and the humidity level is constantly controlled. Very professional, efficient and hard-working. Highly recommend!

Summit Basement did Waterproofing on the inside walls of our Basement on 2/24/23. New drain pipe installed, gravel, new concrete. Jake was also available to answer any questions we had. We also had a new Sump pump and Pittboss Battery backup system installed that really saved us with the area wind storm we just had on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Electric was out for 32 hours and the battery backup system worked great 👍 Kevin, the Foreman and his workers were very professional and on time each day. They kept everything neat and clean while working. Very little dust with filters they used while Jackhammering. We highly recommend Summit Basement if you are in need of Waterproofing or in need of a new sump pump. Thank you!

Summit Basement Company just finished waterproofing our basement, and we had a great experience. They waterproofed the perimeter, installed a sump pump with battery backup and did some I-beams. They also removed our old concrete wash basin which was super helpful!
The process was very smooth. Jake was timely with coming out to do an estimate. He was really straight forward, low pressure and explained everything so we could understand it. He even found the beginnings of a structural issue which I’m glad we were able to catch! The quote was easy to read. We were originally going to get a second quote from OH State Waterproofing, but Jake seemed so transparent we decided to just go with him.
We signed up during the busy season, so there was about a two month gap between sign-on and the installation, but we knew this when we signed up (not an issue AT ALL, good contractors always have lots of work). I expected that closer to the install date that the crews would need to reschedule but nope–they arrived on the exact day Jake told us which I thought was very impressive.
Tevin was the crew lead for our project and he was awesome. He was always available when I had questions and made sure everything was done right. Him and the guys worked hard for three days straight on the project. They arrived early each morning and did not stop working for the whole day. They laid down a liner so the walkway to the door to the basement didn’t get dirty and were super flexible about moving the company trucks if we needed to get out of the driveway. The site was clean each day after they left and they put protective coverings on our stuff in the basement.
Our basement took around three days in total. The first day they jackhammered the basement perimeter and took the concrete out in chunks. The second day they finished jackhammering and installed the piping and the third day they finished everything up and laid the concrete. Jake came over once the concrete was done setting to put our washer and dryer back.
As a newer homeowner, I wasn’t sure what to expect with a project like this, but we are so glad we picked Summit Basement Company. They were super transparent, efficient and responsive throughout the entire process. Our waterproofed basement looks great, we have peace of mind from the sump pump and I’m glad they caught that structural issue before it became a bigger problem. Between the consultation, the quote, the work and the follow-up, I never felt like I was talking to salesperson. Very professional. I worked from home during the entire project and if it weren’t for the necessary noise from the equipment, I wouldn’t have known the crew was there. Between the explanation and the brochures they provided, we could go down each evening and see the progress was following the plan. They finished our drainage system early and left the basement cleaner than they found it. Also, very pleasantly surprised to see several of the products they used in our drainage system were Made in the USA. Would definitely recommend.
Jake and his crew from Summit Basement Company did incredible work, I am so happy with the sump pump system they installed. Not only did they do a great job, they left my basement in better condition than when they found it. Washer and Dryer were leveled and the framing that had to be removed was put back in better condition. Such a nice group of guys, I highly recommend them!!

We were at our wit’s end trying to find a contractor to repair our foundation. We called Jake and from day 1 he was responsive and honest with us on what needed to be done and how much it would cost. He kept every appointment he made with us and arrived on time. On the day of the repair, Jake showed up with his crew on time. The work was done accurately and quickly and our house is solid. We are extremely pleased with the work and highly recommend Jake and company for any foundation work you need done.
I tried getting a quote on my basement, the guy said he would give me an email but never did. Tried reaching out through the number he contacted me with before, no reply. I do, however, feel bad for not making him aware sooner that we had fleas down there. My partner had dealt with it and i thought it was successful until i went back down there with the guy who did my quote. I do appreciate the advice he gave me which is why i marked 4 stars. However I guess we won’t be using this business to do the job since I can’t get the quote. overall this business would have been a great place to use for our project.

We used Summit Basement Company to solidify the foundation of our home, waterproof, and install a sump pump. Jake thoroughly explained everything to us and what was needed to ensure our home’s long term safety and that we would have no issues in the future. His team that did the work was great. I was so impressed that no dirt made its way upstairs and that the team did an amazing job of keeping everything cleaned up each night after themselves. With such a huge job that was so messy, that in itself was a gigantic undertaking and also a big relief. We’ve had a few big rains since and everything has worked perfectly!
Hired SBC for a new house I bought with basement walls that needed secured. I felt a good vibe with Jake, and was please not only with the service provided, but the taking of time to go over options available to help decide. One thing to remember is calls are returned when they get time, as they are in the middle of working during the day, so you do need to be patient for get a reply back. I prefer being able to get direct answers than dealing with an “office person” who has to play middle man to get back to you.
The crew did a great job bracing my walls, cleaning up the basement and installing a new sump and dehumidifier. When there was a question about the sump pump (hose from dehumidifier blocked the float), Jake was able to diagnose it for me over the phone with photos he asked for.
I couldn’t be happier with the job that Tevin, Gabe, and Dave did. They were on time if not early both days. They had to shut our water off but made sure to get it back on for us before they left on day one. The tools they used barely left any dust. They covered everything with plastic and it doesn’t even look like they worked in the basement. They left the basement cleaner than they started. After the first all day rain our basement is dry and doesn’t smell!!! I couldn’t be happier. I 100% recommend them.
I called Summit Basement Company because we had an accepted offer on a house and needed a quote on the basement to finalize the offer. I called Jake to confirm that we were on, since we had to schedule around both the tenant and the realtor. He called me 15 minutes before our appointment to tell me that he was running an hour late. I was halfway there at that point.
When Jake did arrive, I was impressed with his knowledgeability and the fact that he didn’t try to sell me on a $$$$ basement job. This was a 1900s basement, so it posed some unique challenges, and he was candid about the need to consult with a structural engineer friend to make sure he had the right solution. He promised to get me a quote that evening or first thing the next morning. Unfortunately, it was 3 days before he called me back, so we just had to make a decision on the property based on a verbal assessment.
So…I can’t speak to the quality of their work. I’d give them 5 stars for knowledge and integrity, but they need to work on responsiveness and following through with commitments. I’d certainly give them an opportunity to bid against the big guys on projects that aren’t time-sensitive.

Jake and his team do a great job for a reasonable price. I flip houses and they have worked on at least a dozen of my houses.
This company was recommended to me by a structural engineer. I needed supports added and wanted some waterproofing.
The estimate was very low pressure and Jake took the time to answer any questions I had. This is not a company that uses scare tactics to try and sell you tens of thousands of unnecessary repairs. Jake was even able to give me some peace of mind, explaining that a few things I was worried about were not actually a concern.
The price was very reasonable based on some research I’d done.
During the job the guys worked hard all day (and the next morning due to a curveball that they took in stride). I mostly let them work but they were friendly when I spoke with them. The repairs and additions look great and they did an excellent job cleaning up when they were done.
Overall just a really solid contractor, I’d definitely recommend them and hire them again.
The guys arrived on time and worked very hard to get the job done in a timely manner. UPDATE: it’s been 2 years and the basement is still dry as a bone! Non water leaks or excessive moisture. Sump working very well. I HIGHLY recommend these guys.
I used Summit on a recent home I purchased. The home was built in 1967 and the last time anything was done to it was in the early 90s. The foundation started to bow inward. After calling 4 other places Summit was the only one willing to come out and walk the inside and outside of the home/property to see exactly what was happening. They were the only ones that didn’t try and upsell me into something that truly wasn’t needed. Fair, honest, and down-to-earth. Old school customer service. Jake (owner) made sure that he was there the day his crew, which was amazing by the way, started the work and went over everything again with me and he also made sure to come back out after everything was finished to make sure it was completed as per the work order. He went into great detail about each system used and why he knows it’s the right system. Summit saved me over $10,000 in additional work that others said I needed to have done. We had Summit Basement Company come to our home to waterproof our basement. We are very happy with their work. Each day they were here they worked very fast and cleaned up after themselves after each day. Once the job was complete my basement was probably cleaner than before they even started it. Jake and Chris are very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. They had to change their original plan because once they were down there digging they noticed some issues and so they made sure to let me know immediately before they did anything and then they fixed all the issues for us. They are a company you can trust that isn’t out to just take your money like some other basement company in Ohio does. I had some other companies out here looking at our issues and Jake was the one that I trusted the most. He didn’t try to sell the job. He was very honest and upfront with everything. Other companies will try to scare you into hiring them, the Ohio basement company didn’t do that. I highly recommend them! The whole experience was great from start to finish!!!
Scheduled these guys to check out the leak in the basement. As it turns out I ended up ripping down a patch of drywall to reveal a leaky pipe and no foundational issues. I messaged Jake a short time before our scheduled appointment time and informed him of my findings and that the issue probably wasn’t worth his time since it looked like I needed a plumber. He still showed up and asked to take a look since he was there. He asked if I wanted him to fix it and how far away the nearest Home Depot was. He left to get the parts, returned with everything he needed and gave me the receipt. He cut out the bad section of pipe and replaced it in minutes. When I asked what I owed him he referred to the receipt and wanted nothing more. It was only after we insisted he take something for his time, effort, gas mileage, and expertise that he actually took the modest amount of compensation we gave him. He saved the day, not to mention however much he saved me in plumber costs. He was courteous, knowledgeable, friendly (my kids loved him) and overall exceptional. My faith in humanity is restored. I’d recommend him and his company to anyone and will not hesitate to call them in the future if and when I need a hand. 5 stars all around.
Jake explained the history of foundation construction in NE Ohio; what to expect, monitor, and what to action on. He was very personable and down to earth. Wish I already owned the house he was inspecting, then I would have hired him on the spot!

Professional, Honest, Trustworthy, Reliable, Clean!! Hired The Ohio Basement Co to fix our flooding basement after we put a lot of money into digging outside of the foundation (another co) and suddenly after a few years we still had water pouring in every rain and once again we had a flooded non-useable basement. Jake/Chris explained their process after listening to our concerns and formed a plan – and there is no high pressure sales pitch – they are here to help you with your problem, and they do! Chris and Jake work in your home, not someone else. They show up on time daily, are professional and polite, and if you poke your head over their shoulder they explain what they are doing. You are proud to have them working in your home and they clean up when they are finished. Their Jack-hammers have a vacuum on them and there is very minimal dust if any- nothing like other companies forewarned us about their own work in their quotes. The last day the crew was finishing up and the torrential downpour began….and we listened and watched the new pump work down in the basement, saw the water pour outside our home at the drain end, and no water flooding our basement!. Proof that first day, and every rainfall since. Don’t waste your hard earned money on other dirty, dusty, high-pressure companies, trust these guys to do their hard work in your home and be proud to gain your basement back as a useful and enjoyable foundation that has been lost due to a leaky basement structure.
